By age ten, Ava was 5’5” and built like a push-pop. Raised in Johns Creek, Georgia by a Puerto Rican from the Bronx, she is used to being the odd man out. It was not unusual for her to be found bursting into some original song about “the big city” or speaking to trees. She has long championed her fellow freaks, and spends her time writing whimsical comedies about the mortifying desire to be seen.
Since 2020, Ava has worked for Cosgrove/Meurer Productions, the true-crime company behind Unsolved Mysteries and A Body in the Snow: The Trial of Karen Read. In this context, her comedy skills are useless. She’s also a UCB-trained improviser, performing with the indie team Dennis & Denise, and a contributing writer for Dropout TV’s MAKE SOME NOISE.
Ava has a BA in Screenwriting at Emerson College and an MFA in Writing for Film and Television at the University of Southern California.
